Chapter One

The Foundation

Where the work begins: discipline, commitment, and the choice to go inward

Long before there was a program, a credential, or a client, there was a decision.

Years ago, Heku made a commitment β€” to choose life, love, and spiritual centeredness as his energetic focus, every day. Not as a philosophy to profess, but as a practice to inhabit. He understood early that this kind of commitment is never finished. It is renewed daily, in the small moments and the large ones, in the difficult seasons and the abundant ones.

That choice β€” made in earnest, sustained over decades β€” is the foundation of everything Infinity Within offers. It is not theory. It is lived. Heku has been a student of the Healing Arts since 1999. His BS in Psychology and studies in Metaphysics reflect a lifelong passion for the mind-body-spirit connection β€” the understanding that human wholeness is not a destination but a practice, and that it begins from within.

Chapter Two

The Call

From the battlefield to the healing space β€” how lived experience became vocation

Heku is a Marine veteran. That fact is not incidental to his work β€” it is formative.

Military service teaches you things that no classroom can: how the body holds stress, how trauma imprints on the nervous system, how people survive under extraordinary pressure β€” and what it costs them when the pressure never fully lifts. Heku carries that knowledge not as a wound but as a lens. It sharpens his understanding of what his clients face and deepens his commitment to meeting them where they are.

The transition from service to healing work was not a departure from discipline β€” it was a redirection of it. The same commitment that shaped his years in the Marine Corps now shapes every session, every program, and every relationship in his practice.

He understands, from the inside, what it means to navigate a world that does not always make space for your pain β€” and to find, through practice, the inner capacity to meet it anyway.

Chapter Three

Three decades of contemplative training, clinical work, and lineage

For over 30 years, Heku has maintained a personal contemplative practice. What began as a private commitment became a professional vocation β€” and then a teaching lineage.

He is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher-Practitioner (CMT-P), trained through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield at the Greater Good Science Center, UC Berkeley. He is also a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Facilitator, trained through the UCSD Center for Mindfulness β€” and a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Trainer, bringing the practice forward to the next generation of teachers.

His clinical work includes serving as a Contemplative Practitioner and Group Facilitator for a virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Charlie Health, where he supports clients in developing mindful awareness, cultivating wisdom, discovering purpose, living compassionately, and practicing self-inquiry with people navigating some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

Heku is also a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor and an Integrative Health and Wellness Consultant, trained through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition β€” where he studied over 100 dietary theories and practical wellness frameworks with leading researchers including Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. David Katz, Dr. Walter Willett, and others.
This breadth of training is not about collecting credentials. It reflects a single, sustained commitment: to understand human healing as completely as possible β€” in the body, in the mind, in the spirit, and in the lineage.

Chapter Four

The Mission

Why this work, for this community, in this moment

Heku's mission is straightforward, even if the work is not: to raise awareness around holistic health and healing by being a living example of what he shares.

This means that Infinity Within is not a program built on theory. It is built on the same practice Heku has maintained for over three decades β€” a daily, embodied commitment to clarity, steadiness, and self-knowledge. What he offers his clients, he has first required of himself.

His work is rooted in the ancient Kemetian principle of Man Know Thyself β€” the understanding that healing is not something that happens to you, but something you cultivate, through sustained practice, honest self-inquiry, and the willingness to return to yourself again and again.

He works with people navigating anxiety, hypervigilance, racial stress, depression, and emotional overwhelm. He works with veterans and civilians, with individuals in crisis and with those simply seeking a deeper relationship with themselves. He meets each person where they are β€” with the full weight of his training, his lineage, and his lived experience behind every session.

The outer world will always present its challenges. The inner work is what determines how we meet them.

Β

If the outer world is to be transformed, the process must begin within.
